Monday Feature: Most Worn Products

Hello, I'm Kaitlin from Kaitlin's beauty blog and I'm doing a guest post on Emily's blog. This is my second guest post and I love doing them. Today's is on my most worn products recently. I was going to do fashion but I decided to keep it beauty related.

Victoria beckham - Intimately perfume
I'm a big fan of Victoria Beckham I love her style and the spice girls are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. This perfume smells amazing. Its not a new one of hers so its not to expensive but it is still available to buy. I'm rubbish at describing scents but what I can say is that it is incredibly feminine and I love it. I wear it most days and it just smells amazing.

Mac tinted lip conditioner - Petting pink
I love this to apply in the morning as part of my routine as I'm a huge lip balm freak this product is perfect. It doesn't take any work what so ever and its so quick and easy to apply. Its quite sheer but I love the colour of it, its a subtle pink once applied, it smells absolutely amazing like those rhubarb and custard sweets to me and I think its defiantly worth the price as I've used mine loads and its hardly even gone down.

Photobucket

Photobucket Sephora blush - 09 healthy rose
This has been my favourite blush for ages, its really subtle but still giving your cheeks a healthy glow and its great for if you just want a natural look. The colour is buildable but obviously if you apply to much is can go terribly wrong. I like to wear this on the apples of my cheeks blended out and its looks great in my opinion.

Photobucket Essie nail polish - Bangle Jangle
This is my first essie polish and believe me it won't be my last. I love the formula, the brush, just everything about it. Its amazing quality and the packaging is beautiful. You can sort of see the colour on my nail in the photo, its just a nice light purple, lilac colour and it goes with almost everything.

So that is it for my guest post, I hope you enjoyed reading it and it would be amazing if you could take a look at my blog here

Love kaitlin xx

Shortbread People

I thought it might be interesting for you to see what I have been baking recently and these are just ones of the things I have been cooking up! Hope you enjoy :0)

Ingredients:

225g/8 oz. flour
40g/ 1½ oz. icing sugar (I used caster sugar and it worked fine)
175g/6 oz. butter (it is best if is softened)

First, sift the flour and caster sugar in a bowl.
Next, rub in the butter until it is well blended.
After that, roll out the dough to about 1cm thick.
Get your man cutter and cut as many men as you can and place them on a baking sheet covered in baking parchment. Put into the oven preheated to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
Bake for around 15-20 minutes or until lightly brown in colour and firm to the touch. Leave to cool on a wire rack.

For the decorating, melt about 50g of chocolate (which ever milk, dark or even white) in either a pan or the microwave. Get the man's leg and dip it into the chocolate, do that with the other leg and also with the two arms. Next sprinkle on some hundred and thousands (or anything you want to decorate him with). Then get a small spoon and dip that in the chocolate and dot on some eyes. If you want your man to have buttons. I got my spoon dipped into to chocolate and made two dots in the centre and then stuck on two smarties.

Leave the chocolate to set, then the best part you can now eat him! Yum, yum :D

Please tweet me a picture (@EmilysBlog) if you try these out, I would love to see them ;)

Moustache Obession

Moustache Obession

I seem to go through some obsessions with either fashion accessories or logos. I have recently been obsessing over the moustache trend, to be honest I love how cool, different and interesting it looks. I defiantly want to get my hands on some earrings, maybe even that jumper, the t-shirt with maybe just the one moustache on the front and possible those socks! I also might see if I can do them on my nails. I think the whole idea is just brill and I love all those slogan/phrases like above.

Do you have a moustache obsession?

Monday Feature: Holy grail items

Hi!
I’m Izzy from 901lovely, and I’m actually really excited about doing this! It’s my first (and hopefully not my last) guest post, so I wasn’t really sure on what to do it on. I thought my 'Holy grail items’ would be a good start though!

Photobucket

Kiko primer
You most likely don’t know that I have a weird obsession with primers. This particular one I brought from the Kiko shop when I was in Spain, and I’ve been using it ever since. It has a weird, sticky texture, but once you get passed that, it’s fantastic. It keeps my face matte and helps keep my make-up on all day.

Neutrogena face wash and mask
I’ve been using this for over a year now, and I’m still in love with it. It’s clay based, so it does wonders for my oily skin, making it less spot prone.

Elf lipstick
This lipstick is in the shade ‘nicely nude’, and I agree. It’s the perfect nude for me, not being too pink or too nude. It suits my skin tone perfectly, lasts a while, and the most important part? It’s cheap!

Mac studio sculpt concealer
I’ve only just heard that this is being discontinued, and I honestly think I’ll cry. It hides blemishes perfectly without being too cakey. It is quite thick, but I don’t think it’s that noticeable once it’s on the face.

Lancome hypnose doll eyes mascara
This mascara is perfect for my bottom lashes, as well as the top. It makes my lashes black, long and thick, and also works really well alongside all my other mascaras.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed enough to visit my blog

Brushes and Tools I use

Photobucket

I use brushes on a daily bases and I really find they are defiantly worth having them instead of using your fingers or sponges. Most if not all of these brushes are from e.l.f. They are really great quality and value for money.

Photobucket

E.l.f Total Face brush £1.50
I use this brush to apply my face powder and it is really great as it is so large!

Photobucket

E.l.f Studio Stipple Brush £3.50
I use this to apply my foundation and it really blends it in really well! Since getting this I have never gone back to using my fingers.

Photobucket

E.l.f Eyeshadow brush £1.50
I use this to apply my eyeshadow of course! I like the shape of this and it applies my eyeshadow nicely!

Photobucket

E.l.f crease brush £1.50
I find that this is the perfect size to apply eyeshadow into my crease.

Photobucket

E.l.f Concealer Brush £1.50
I just use this brush to apply my concealer to any blemishes, I would say this is maybe a little small but it is fine for small spots.

Photobucket

E.l.f
I don't own any bronzers so I just use this for blusher I really like how this brush is slanted, only bad thing is it could be a little more denser.

Photobucket

Eye lash curlers £1.50
I was very scared to use these at first but now I can't apply mascara without them, they really make a difference!

My Skin Care Routine

Photobucket

I have been waiting for a suitable time to do this post, as I don't use a lot of skin care products. But recently I have been taking more time into it and trying to care for my skin, to make it clearer and healthier. I still have no clue at the moment what skin type I am, I think I might be normal with a little dry areas such as on my forehead and chin. So far by using all these products I haven't had any breakouts what so ever (touch wood).

Simple Hydrating moisturiser £2
I use this morning and night. Firstly I wet my face then, I just apply a pea sized amount of this onto my palms and rub into a lather. I then massage this onto my face and use circular motions. I do make sure I get into some places where spots for me, are where they mostly tend to crop up around my nose.

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash £2
Same again, I use my moisturiser day and night and it seems to keep my skin hydrated all day.

Johnson's exfoliating wash £3.05
I only tend to use this maybe once or sometimes twice a week, I have been looking for a exfoliating wash for a while now and am glad I pick this one up. I was going to buy one from simple but it wasn't in stock at the time. I was really excited about this when I was telling Izzy about this. I had never heard of something that when you rub the wash in your hands it changes from a liquidy wash to gritty sort of scrub...but me being me got all excited over it and Izzy told me there are many things like that already about. :( I still love it all the same and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean!

Wilko Fragrance Free Wipes £1
Just some plain old face wipes, I really like these ones from Wilkinson’s...yes you heard me right. They are really nice to the skin removes most if not all my make-up, great and they are always on 2 for £1.

Superdrug Eye make-up remover
(which I can't seem to find on the website how much it is but I vaguely remember £1.09)
If the face wipes don't remove all my eye make-up, I just use this on a cotton wool pad and it does the job.

What does your skin care routine contain?

I need some blogger help...

Photobucket

So I bought this hair donut from Primark and thought I would be able to achieve a really nice looking bun. I had been quite interested in how my friend Jenni got a really nice bun using this...I thought I could do this too..but it seems not :( I tie my hair back in a pony and then get the donut through the hair up to where the bobble is. Then I slide it up onto the tip of my hair, flick/fold the hair around the donut and try and I say try to do that scrunch and fold/turn in the hair and it does not work for me. I am not sure whether it is because my hair is quite hard to style/handle (e.g to soft) or whether it is not the right length but Jenni has shorter hair than me. I am not sure also whether it is because I have a lot of hair to start with (it is quite thick too). I have watched numerous tutorials on youtube but I can't get my hair to stay on to the donut. It just all falls out. I am not entirely sure whether I am making any sense...what I am trying to say is I need some help if you know some tutorials that you used and helped you. Could you leave them in the comments, please? That would be so helpful :) Thank you!!

Monday Feature: If I had a spare £50

Hello just a little intro from me I had a couple of replies from people from the Guest Posting post I put up (if you still are interested then just drop me an email) and I thought I would make it a Monday Feature to me Monday's are the worst days in the week because it is your first day back at school and especially at winter it is really cold and mostly my lessons are pretty boring...I suppose you could compare me with Garfield (I hate Monday's and like lasagne) On to the post!!

Hello!
This is not Emily, shock horror! This is Lottie from Bloggin’ L (blogginglottie.blogspot.co.uk). I’m here doing a cheeky little guest post for Emily. I’m pretty new to blogging so I thought it would be interesting to pop over to someone else’s blog and say hello.
So over at Bloggin’ L I do a regular feature called ‘If I had a spare £50’ (it’s mostly because I just bought a house with my boyfriend so money is not plentiful round here!), so I thought I would have a rummage through the lovely Emily’s blog and tell you all what I’d spend my £50 on that Emily has!

Photobucket

Alberto Balsam Juicy Green Apple Shampoo - £1.07
Emily featured this in her August favourites. I am a huge fan of the Alberto Balsam range, I always use the Coconut and Lychee one and I have tried the Raspberry too but never this.

Photobucket

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - £7.99
Another recently item recently featured by Emily. I love this colour, and am always looking for lip items that are recommended by others as I’ve just always stuck to my Barry M lipstick I got for a dance show! I definitely want to try this one.

Lush Rock Star Soap (you buy this in blocks) - £.3.40 for 100g
I am not a bath person really so I don’t tend to buy things from Lush (plus in my nearest town it’s next to a pretzel shop so it ends up being a bit of a hideous smell!!) but this soap was just too cute to miss off the list! It would definitely look cute by my sink in the bathroom. (The actual product from Lush comes in a block with little stars in, so cute!)

Aztec Top - £10 (House of Frazer)
Emily featured this in a Wish List post and I love this too. Would look great with some jeans or tucked into a bodycon skirt for a night out.

MUA Undressed Palette - £4
In the same Wish List post Emily featured this. I have the Heaven and Earth palette which I use on a daily basis so it would be nice to add a few extra shades to my collection.
On a side note I cannot recommend the MUA eye shadows enough, such a bargain and they last all day (which is amazing on me as I suffer with eye issues, so they water a lot and I rub them a lot and this still survives the day!).

featured in my "This outfit I just luvee!" post

Dress - £25 New Look
So while I want this whole outfit, my £50 budget won’t allow me. So I will plump for the dress. So cute and summery but chuck on a pair of navy tights and woolly cardi, job done for winter!

Total:  £51.46
Oops.. I have gone slightly over my budget, but I promise on the posts I have done previously I have always been under (go look if you don’t believe me!!) so I think you’ll allow me the extra £1.46.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post, and I hope you’ll come and say hi to me sometime soon.
I’ll give Emily here lovely blog back now.
Toodles!
Lottie x
